Butoh at Kew Gardens

Marie Gabrielle Rotie Production

Dance collective Butoh UK ’s new work ‘Mujokan’ at the Temperate House in the Kew Gardens, taking inspiration from the surrounding plants. Butoh-informed dancers and live artists, under the artistic direction of Marie-Gabrielle Rotie, performed a series of vignettes. The dancers embodied the flower in its stages of blooming, fragrance and decay, to underscore the transience of all existence. Butoh creates a rich, open space for the audience to enter and explore their thoughts and dreams. Part of Kew Garden After Hours Japan Season 2021
